Energy Efficiency Company Grows Regionally with MacKenzie Help

COLUMBIA, MD – greeNEWit, a local energy solutions company that provides energy and water saving upgrades, has leased a 5,000 square feet MacKenzie Commercial Real Estate Services office building at 6851 Oak Hall Lane in Howard County, Maryland. Since opening in 2008, the firm has created green jobs for more than 50 professionals in the area.

“greeNEWit is continually growing its footprint in the Mid-Atlantic region. Today, we have provided energy saving solutions to more than 40,166 residences in the state of Maryland and are saving 20,783,548 kWh of electricity and 479,265,786 gallons of water annually,” greeNEWit Co-Founder Jason Jannati said. “Our entrepreneurial culture is attracting some of the region’s top talent and we’re ready for the next step.”

Founded by Josh Notes, Jason Jannati, and Matej Harangozo, greeNEWit consults to utility companies, builders, contractors and homeowners—providing comprehensive energy audits, quick home energy check-ups, training for sustainable operations and other energy-efficient services. To foster collaboration, greeNEWit’s uniquely designed office will feature customized collaborative spaces, meeting areas and offices intended to maximize the abundance of natural light.

“greeNEWit has emerged as a regional sustainable energy solutions company that demonstrates true innovation success,” said Hobbs. “We’re honored that greeNEWit partnered with us in their growth and look forward to a long, successful relationship.”

“Companies pursuing regional rather than specific market focused business are choosing to save by locating in the Baltimore/Washington corridor rather than occupying multiple locations,” said Hobbs. “Affordable rents and access to multiple major metropolitan markets continue to make this area desirable.” MacKenzie’ Hobbs and Senior Vice President/Principal Christopher C. Bennett represented greeNEWit in their search and negotiations with landlord, T.A.P.O. Limited Partnership, who was represented by Kim Penny of CBRE.
