Service: On March 10, 2013, greeNEWit presented the OUR Schools Program to Oseh Shalom elementary students in grades K-4. The Sunday school students learned about the environment and sustainability in their homes through an energizing assembly and STEM-related activities in the classroom. greeNEWit inspected and installed on average 217 CFL light bulbs, 45 faucet aerators and 20 showerheads in each of the 26 single family homes of Oseh Shalom members. This will prevent 23,760 pounds of CO2 from being released into the atmosphere. The CO2 saved collectively by the school is the equivalent of nearly 57 trees being planted.
Oseh Shalom Organization: Raised $500 for energy upgrades at Oseh Shalom organization. Learned how a real company uses the principles of STEM to achieve their environmental and efficiency goals.
